To Be the best train with the best

I grew up on a farm in Iowa where I learned that hard work usually paved a path to success. I was competitive and liked to win in all my ambitions growing up, especially as an athlete. I was a four-sport high school athlete and part of seven state championship teams as an E-Hawk. Our coaches stressed mastering fundamentals and teamwork. At Loras College, I played baseball and football, while maintaining my academics with a spot on the Dean’s List. I believe, just as I was taught, to focus your energy on transforming your weaknesses into strengths and challenge yourself to make consistent daily improvements.

After conquering my own success as an athlete, personal trainer, and published author, I wanted to help others find success through fitness. I became an owner and head trainer at Cross Kicks Fitness™ so that I could build a team and spread my passion for fitness on a much larger scale. Our incredible team and members are out to make an impact in the industry. My motivation each day is my family. I have four incredible children; Cooper, Cade, Emma, and Olivia. I am lucky enough to be able to work alongside my beautiful wife Abby. Besides her head training role, and being a mother of four, she has a full-time job keeping me in line most of the time. I could not do it without her. My other motivation is our team. We truly have the best training team around. I am privileged to be able to work with such a talented group of fitness enthusiasts. Our members, the community of inspiration, the daily sweat and high fives, the comradery make the CKF FITFAM!

I was born in Woodstock, Il. My dad was a dairy farmer and we owned a local milk hauling business and my mom was a SAHM. I am one of three children and with two brothers there was never a dull moment in our house. Growing up I was a competitive cheerleader and played softball but never really lifted weights until i was an adult.

At a whopping 5’0” tall I was always considered an athletic build and never really struggled with weight. In 2008 I gave birth to my first son and found myself struggling to get back to my previous weight. Like most mothers I had put myself on the back burner, started eating unhealthy and found myself rapidly gaining weight. I joined a local gym, hired a personal trainer and the rest is history. I have trained along side CKF owner, head trainer, and my now husband Tony Wuebker for almost 10 years and I am forever grateful for everything he has taught me. I am now the mother of FOUR beautiful children Cooper, Cade, Emma and Olivia and fitness is still a top priority.

My passion is to empower women to be the best version of themselves, make their health a priority, regain confidence, and find a love for fitness.

Cross Kicks Fitness is my home, it’s not just a gym. You’re always greeted at the door with a high five and a smile. The workouts are made to be modified for any fitness level and the trainers and members are one of kind. I believe we bring something to the table no else can offer. At CKF you always have an open ear, a friendly atmosphere, a place to grow and challenge yourself, and a judgment free zone where the trainers and members are always rooting for your success.

Hey there! Born and raised in the Bolingbrook and Downers Grove area until I "grew up" and went to college. I grew up as a middle child of 4 total siblings. We all in someway are involved in the health field. You could say taking care of others is in our nature.

I've always been an active person in something either sports teams, fitness challenges, MMA or just good old fashioned body building style training. Anyone that knows me will tell you I am always looking for something to do or compete in otherwise I get really bored! I competed in 2 fitness challenges in the last year (2017/18) and competed in an MMA tournament. I love a great challenge for myself and always strive to push for my absolute best in and outside of my comfort zone!

Fitness has always encompassed my life in some way and then one day it clicked and decided to turn it into a career so that I can help others with their fitness journey as well! I graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2002 with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education with a focus on becoming a teacher. After I graduation and a short stint as an educator I chose to make a switch to helping others in fitness outside of the classroom and more so in a gym or anywhere anyone needs the help or coaching.

Some random facts about me: I am obsessed with superheroes and secretly would love to be one. I had a mild obsession with Celine Dion in my teen years. I love a good quote and have compiled a book of good stories and quotes for almost 20 years (I'm still adding to it so bring me new ones!) I am the proud owner of a Hello Kitty tattoo!

I look forward to helping you on your fitness journey and reaching any goals you may have!

My name is Tim Cho and I been with Crosskicks Fitness since 2016. I grew up in Barrington, Illinois.I enjoy a very wide range of activity and exercise. I enjoy acro yoga, bouldering, hiking, running, and hanging out with awesome people! I am a mixed martial artist with a current professional record of 6-3. My start in the MMA stemmed from wrestling back in my middle and high school days. Wrestling taught me the discipline of how to diet right, work hard , that perseverance pays off , and to never give up. After high school I joined the military and am currently a Sergeant and soon to be drill Sergeant at the 3-334th unit in Milwaukee. After returning from my basic training and AIT Training in 2013 my mma journey begun. During my early amateur MMA and boxing career i went to Mchenry County College to get my Associates in Applied science in Health and fitness management degree. I went 5-0 as amateur MMA fighter and fought Golden Gloves in 2014/2015. Making it to the finals in 2015. I kept busy and balanced my work life and mma/boxing life so they grew together. I was trying to find my niche in fitness and what I really enjoyed. When I first started in the fitness industry I had the opportunity to shadow/ intern many talented trainers from small group functional training (All American training), cardio kickboxing(Title boxing club), one on one personal training, and Crossfit (Crossfit Pally). Then it was Crosskicks Fitness that really fired me up.

Crosskicks Fitness is amazing! With being part of the military/ team sport/ etc. I knew Cross Kicks Fitness is where I belonged. I believe in the saying that "when you're surrounded by hard working people it makes it almost impossible to quit". And thats what CKF represents. A program set for the entire week and having trainers that are intrinsically motivated to come to work and push, motivate, inspire members to become a stronger healthier version of themselves.

I grew up in the middle of Nebraska in the small town of Kearney from birth until I graduated college. I always had an itch to live somewhere new, meet new people and see different places. I consider myself an extremely outgoing person. In Junior High and a couple of years in High School I played softball but was never quite a sports person or extremely athletic. By the time I was finishing my senior year of high school I was really starting to struggle with weight. At age 19 I was 100 lbs. overweight and the yo-yo dieting began. I tried every fad that was out there. This continued for almost 20 years loosing and gaining 80-100 lbs multiple times. In 2003 my second child was born and my "why" changed. I didn't want to sit on the sidelines and just watch my children's life. I wanted to be in it. Really in it!

It took 2 1/2 years to loose 90 lbs and this is when I started running! This took me on another shift, the desire to learn more about food as fuel. I decided to go back to school and got a degree as a Nutritionist. During this time I was introduced to Tony Wuebker owner and head trainer of Cross Kicks Fitness and started strength training. I was training to run my first Chicago marathon. I was more than skeptical. Cardio, cardio, cardio was where my mind was stuck. But knew that the blend of cardio, strength and flexibility was important. So when Tony opened Cross Kicks Fitness I was standing at the front door! After changing my body composition yet again and improving my overall health and most importantly my confidence, I can proudly say I am not the sideline mom. In fact I help coach my kids sports and have been actively involved in numerous events in their lives. So it comes full circle to be able to extend my passion to not just my kids but to every member at Cross Kicks. I promise not to just sit on the sidelines for you but be in. Really in it!

I have lived in the Huntley/Lake in the Hills area my whole life. I grew up in an active household, there was always a new challenge or something with wheels to play with. We were always outside whether it be biking, hiking, or camping. I’ve been fortunate enough to have parents who always encouraged whatever new sport or activity I wanted to try and with that, I’m moderately good at a wide range of things, a lot of them not so useful - no one cares that you can unicycle when it comes down to it , but I can!
I played a range of sports, but being 6’ tall as a female, volleyball was the one to really stick. I filled my winter season with snowboarding and still enjoy it! Whatever it is that I am participating in, I have a crazy competitive drive that pushed me to perform better. This led into a heavy focus on strength training in high school that followed me through college and ultimately into my passion to help others find their strength.

I have an AAS degree in Culinary Management and I am working my way through a AAS in Health and Fitness Education. Through middle and high school I volunteered with a summer camp that worked with special needs and that is really where I saw my future in teaching, whether it be fitness or academic, and found my niche with helping people reach their goals of any degree.

I have a hard time staying in one system or place due to boredom, but at Cross Kicks Fitness, I never get bored. Every day and every workout is different and challenging, there’s no ceiling of attainable knowledge or ability. The flexibility of having no class times has provided myself and many others the opportunity to get the best possible workout in each day. I saw a model of community and family in Cross Kicks Fitness that I had not seen before in the fitness industry and immediately knew this was where I wanted to further my career and passion.

Aside from fitness and competition, I’ve found my other passions in cars, animals, coffee, and food - mostly eating it.

Health and fitness has been a passion of mine even before I truly understood the science behind it all. Seeing the full potential of a person by pushing the body and mind to the absolute limit is an achievement that cannot be matched. Life can be too difficult to catch up with sometimes. Exercise helps me clear my head and slow things down. The gym is the one place in the world I feel in complete control. I believe anyone can earn the same feeling with honest dedication.

Throughout the years I developed a healthy lifestyle that worked for me. I had my up and downs facing obstacles like knee surgery, weight gain, and handling the stress of a busy life. My struggles helped me grow into the character I am today. Once I earned my NSCA-CPT I started training developing my skills and expertise to assist others in their struggles. I specialize in strength training and weight loss, but have worked with numerous clients on various goals.

Lifting weights isn't the only way to work out. I encourage people to find their own style of exercise. The most important step is establishing a healthy lifestyle by developing a higher quality of living that consistently works for you. That's where it all begins.

I help create, plan, and personalize programs for each client specific to their needs. My training is centered around motivation, direction, and progression. You cannot have one without the other. I am driven to be the assistance to push someone to their next goal.
